So the other night we played the opening for a Holt Renfrew store. Limousines, celebrities wearing fancy clothes, open bars, and a plethora of tiny food items on the ends of giant toothpicks being carted around. Not exactly what we’re used to.
We played an awesome show, it was fun. Then we ran into Jeremy Piven. Somehow we ended up back on stage, with Ari Gold on drums, doing a freaked-out version of Iggy Pop’s “The Passenger”. Twas a fun night. Here are a few pictures.

Our big fat tour went really well.
We’re going to update the site with some photos soon.
The video diary episodes from the tour are also going to start appearing.
So stay tuned!
We’ve always been keen on good threads and coifed hair, but to be a part of September New York Fashion Week at John Varvatos store (home of the old CBGB’s) in New York is going to be a highlight for The Fast Romantics for years to come. We’ve been chosen as one of three finalists in the Free the Noise worldwide band search. September 15th we get to play alongside two other bands chosen by Spin Magazine and John Varvatos and mingle with some industry leaders in music, journalism and fashion.
Check out this video of us playing “Sleepy Jean”, taped live at Mac Hall Ballroom in Calgary.
It was already named Video of the Day on offthedial.ca.

Pretty cool night, both The Fast Romantics and Secret Broadcast are celebrating their CD release with one of our favorite bands The Shagbots. $20 pre-buy tickets get you both bands’ debut albums, along with entrance to the show.
